I take it BACK!!!

I work part-time at the hospital. And basically I only work for benefits because I make NOTHING! So...... I was complaining to my Dad that I work for benefits that I never use!

So of course only about 3 days later I'm at work (at 3am) and my phone starts ringing. It's my parents, Becks had woken them up with his coughing and what sounded like wheezing. After discussing this with the other nurses we told my Mom to bring him in to the ED. My wonderful charge nurse (LOVE you Bev!) let me leave early and go downstairs to meet them. Chris and Bev brought him popcicles and spoiled him! Long story short.....he had croup. They gave him steroids and we went home.

THE STORY IS NOT OVER!!!

So.....a week later. I worked Saturday night and was working again Sunday. So I try to sleep ALL day. My phone kept ringing but I was kinda sleep drugged so I didn't get it. At about noon my Mom bursts into my room. Becks is complaining that his ear hurts ( he NEVER EVER complains, I am so blessed) so she got my insurance card and took him to urgent care. Yup poor baby had an ear infection!

STILL NOT OVER!!!!!!

This week Syd's school called saying her stomach hurt and she had a mild fever. I went to pick her up and the first thing I ask her is "What did you eat?" (she's lactose intolerant and stomach ache means she ate something with milk that she wasn't supposed to eat!) she says "ice cream sandwich...." The school receptionist looks shocked and asks me if they know she's lactose? Umm yeah I had to write in on at least 10 papers! (that's another story for another day) I take her home anyway, and just because Becks needed some tylenol for his ear I give Syd some because she did have a mild fever. For the next hour she's totally normal then she starts laying on the couch saying she aches. (if either one of my kids lays down for more than 30 seconds, something is wrong) I take her temp 102! And she just had tylenol, her fever should've broken. I work in a hospital and I'm always terrified of bringing something home to the kids, especially now! So called the doc, kept constant vigil on her, giving her meds checking her temp all night. She had a few bad days, but she's better now.

Long story short..... I TAKE IT BACK! I do NOT want to use my insurance! I don't!!!!!!!

Croupy boy, coughing like a seal and playing all the while

I got him to lay in the bed for about 5 seconds

He was so good during his check up, he sat still and followed directions!

I love you Becks!
Something good.... I have insurance and am able to get medical help when I need it. That is good!
